What the courses entail
Courses are held every Wednesday and the last Saturday of each month at our venue in Swellendam. We can accommodate upto 10 people per course and also offer training to individuals or groups.

All exams are SAMSA accredited and are valid for life. Upgrades on existing licences also done.
A category R skippers licence allows the skipper to pilot vessels operating solely on sheltered waters. Sheltered waters: includes: tidal lagoon; tidal river; waters within the breakwaters of a port; and inland waters. Inland waters: waters of any dam, lagoon, lake, river or wetland, which are not tidal waters.
A catergory B and coastal skippers licence allows the skipper to pilot vessels operating 40 nautical miles from shore, proceeding to sea from a commercial harbour, fishing harbour or protected launch site. Category B skippers are only allowed during daylight hours, where coastal skippers can operate during day or night. It also includes all inland / restricted waters in South Africa.
